The $12 million budgeted movie, Think Like a Man, tops the Box Office and halted The Hunger Games four week leading streak. It grossed in an estimated $33 million according to the Hollywood.com which compiles Box Office data.
Think Like a Man is based on Steve Harvey’s novel, ‘Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man’ and is directed by Tim Story. It features Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Regina Hall, Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey.
The movie follows four women who use Steve Harvey’s book for advice about relationships. As a result their men got in the right path until the men finds out what their women have been doing.
Roger Ebert praised the film by stating, "one of the greatest examples of product placement in history":[3]However, the film received mixed reviews worldwide.
Tim Brayton of the Antagony and Ecstasy gave it a score of seven out of 10 and commented, “That the whole thing clocks in north of two hours is nearly unforgivable. But it’s all so frivolous and light in touch that it still manages to be fun.”
Zac Effron’s The Lucky One landed at second place after doing a $22.8 million business in US. It is based on Nicholas Sparks novel and became a good way for Effron to transform his High School Musical image to a grown-up one.
The Hunger Games, which became the first movie to top Box Office for four straight weeks since Avatar last year, fell at number three at the Box Office. It bagged another $13.5 million in tickets for a five-week total of $356.9 million.
An inexpensive Disney nature documentary, Chimpanzee was a surprising fourth at the US Box Office.
