Penultimate over blitz leaves Punjab in shock

Indians won by four wickets to keep up the pace with the top four sides.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Punjab posted a competitive 168/3 in their allotted 20 overs. David Hussey made an unbeaten 68 of 40 balls which included 4 fours and as many sixes. David Miller smacked 34 of 17 balls as the home side managed
to register a par score.
RP Singh, Clint McKay and James Franklin picked up a wicket each. Munaf Patel went for 41 of his four overs while Harbhajan Singh was taken for 29 of his three overs.
In reply, Indians got off to a decent start before Franklin was picked up Azhar Mahmood for 22 of as many balls. Sachin Tendulkar was also picked up by the same bowler for 34 before Dinesh Karthik and Keiron Pollard could add only six runs between them,
reducing the visitors to 90/4.
Rohit Sharma posted a well compiled and important 50 before holding at point off Parvinder Awana. Rayudu and Petersen targeted Chawla and took the young leg spinner for 27, leaving just five runs to get in the last over.
Mahmood tried his level best to defend those five runs but conceded a boundary of the penultimate ball of the game as Indians won by four wickets. Awana picked up 3/39 while Mahmood picked up 2/23. One wicket went to Chawla.
Ambati Rayudu was declared the Man of the Match. The Indians will next play Delhi Daredevils on Friday, April 27, while Punjab will take on the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, April 28.
