In quite an unexpected move, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, after being convicted by the Supreme Court in contempt of court case, exhibited dissatisfaction over the ruling, terming it inappropriate.

A seven-judge bench of the Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that Prime Minister Gilani is guilty of contempt for refusing to obey an order to write to the authorities in Switzerland to ask them to re-open corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.

Justice Nasirul Mulk observed, “For reasons to be recorded later, the prime minister is found guilty of contempt for intentionally flouting the direction of the Supreme Court”.

The premier while speaking to the media said that the judgment by the apex court was not proper, adding that he asked for justice and hoped that legal formalities would be met. He said that legal aides will decide about appealing against the court’s order.

Prime Minister Gilani stood before the Supreme Court to hear the verdict in contempt case for not implementing the apex court’s ruling on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation case.

The premier was punished till the rising of the court for violating Article 63 (1) (g) of the Constitution.

Later, Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan while speaking to the media said that Prime Minister Gilani will file an appeal against the verdict of the Supreme Court in the contempt of court case.

She said that the punishment was being given to those who had made the constitution. She asserted, “The PPP leadership is always targeted.  PPP is law-maker not the law-breaker”.

The minister continued that Prime Minister Gilani would be chairing the meeting of the federal cabinet on Thursday.

Government officials and dignitaries present at the court included Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Masood Kausar, Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar, Presidential Spokesperson  Farhatullah Babar, political secretary to the party co-chairman Rukhsana Bangash and Attorney General Irfan Qadir.

Apparently Mr. Gilani is under the influence of drugs sold by his son Mosa Gilani .
Supreme Court has delivered the justice over due and PPP should accept it that no more Bull Sh*t will be tolerated by any one when it comes to law
Prime Minister should resign immediately if he and PPP believe in the Law of the land and Democracy
