Robert Downey Jr. delighted with Avengers success

Robert Downey Jr. has expressed his delight on the success of new movie, ‘The Avengers’. He insisted that the hard work has definitely paid off as the film is being appreciated worldwide. The new outing has already collected $178 million worldwide and has its release in US next week.

The actor who plays the role of ‘Iron Man’ in the film has admitted that making a movie like ‘Avengers’ was certainly an ambitious project. He claimed that all the actors have tried to be true to their roles and have put in a great performance.

Robert stated that Jon Favreau, who directed the Iron Man series, has worked hard on the role and the movie is sure to be a huge hit. He added that Avengers’ director Joss Whedon has done a brilliant job to place all the characters
in the film and manage their roles.

“Is it really possible [to create a movie like 
The Avengers]? I just think that it was an incredibly ambitious notion. I’m still trying to, without moving backwards, remember the character that [Iron Manand
Iron Man 2 director] Jon Favreau and I created, and be true to that,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

On the other hand, Chris Hemsworth, who will play the character of Thor in the film, has stated that his character has matured in the film and there will be more to his role than the previous film.

“He was a petulant sort of kid at the beginning of 
Thor and by the end of it hopefully you walk away thinking that he is matured and there was a grounded quality to him that wasn’t there before,” he stated.

Finally, Marc Ruffalo, who has made his debut in the movie and plays the character of Hulk, feels that this was the most difficult role he has ever done as there were many dimensions to it.

“He starts like he’s sober in a weird way. The rage is something that is like going on a binge – you wake up after a blackout,” he concluded.

‘The Avengers’ is set to release on the 4^th of May worldwide and on May 11 in the United States.
