Friday, April 27th, 2012 7:48:25 by Hamza JahangirMinister for Interior Rehman Malik on Friday said that there is no confusion regarding Yousuf Raza Gilani as he is still and will remain the prime minister of Pakistan.
“We are clear that Yousuf Raza Gilani is our leader and the prime minister of the country so no one should get any confusion regarding this matter,” Malik said while speaking to media representatives here outside the Parliament
House.
Minister of State for Interior Imtiaz Safdar Warriach, while criticising the comments of Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that any such desire to stop the elected prime minister from attending
the parliament’s proceeding is unconstitutional and unparliamentarily.
He said the prime minister has never disobeyed the court and appeared before the judiciary whenever asked for. The prime minister is totally following the constitution of the country as it gives immunity to the president, he added.
The minister advised the leader of opposition to remain calm and play his due role in running affairs of the parliament in an appropriate manner.
He said that those who want to topple the government have to wait for next general elections as the next government will come only through elections.
The minister said leaders of opposition who are talking about morality should also remember their past actions like attack on the Supreme Court building, horse-trading and writing letters for asking pardon from General (retd) Pervez
Musharraf.
He added even Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif is running the affairs of the provincial government on stay-order of the court. He advised these leaders not to lie in public as people are well aware of their past.
