PML-Likeminded also demands PM’s resignation

Pakistan Muslim League (Likeminded) has also demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani after conviction by Supreme Court in the contempt case.

This was said by Chairman Steering Committee of PML (Likeminded) Salim Saif Ullah during a press conference after the meeting of his party here on Saturday. Senior Party Leaders Humayun Akhtar Khan and Gohar Ayub were also present on the occasion.

He asked Speaker National Assembly to forward the reference of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to election commission at an early date so that the decision could be made on his eligibility. “No doomsday would be occurred if elections would be held before six months earlier”, Saif Ullah added.

He told the media that the meeting of PML (Likeminded) was continued up to three hours in which consultation was made regarding the verdict of Supreme Court. The government made fun of the Supreme Court’s decision.

He said that Pakistan is passing through hard time. The homeland is like the mother and likeminded requests the rulers no to adopt such behavior with her, for which they feel shame.

Humayun Akhtar Khan said on the occasion that Prime Minister should has been tendered resignation after the court decision but on the other hand he refused to accept it at all. At present the country badly needs fresh mandate.

He advised the rulers not to make the court decision matter of ego. If they would not give respect to the court, how the other countries would respect the courts of Pakistan.

Gohar Ayub Khan said that if there is a issue of ineligibly of any member then Speaker must apply his/her mind, but in the particular case, the seven-member bench had applied their mind so there is not any need to further ponder in the case. It is the obligation of the Speaker to forward the matter to election commission forthwith.

He said that registrar Supreme Court can also sent the decision under his covering letter to the Speaker. The privilege of the house would not affect with this act.

He hoped that Supreme Court would also give its verdict on Asghar Khan’s case soon so that the ambiguity in the minds of people should be removed.
