No plans for Nintendo to reveal price of Wii U at 2012 E3
Monday, April 30th, 2012 2:25:04 by Muhammad Qasim HassanNintendo is not planning to reveal the price of its latest gaming console Wii U at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that is scheduled to be held in Los Angeles from June 5 – 7.
It was being speculated that the company would be revealing a lot of details about its next generation console at the 2012 E3, but reports are suggesting that the gamers will have to wait a bit longer to know just how much cash will they have to pull out of their pockets to experience Wii U.
According to the latest updates, Nintendo plans on revealing the price of their new console sometimes after the show.
The mystery surrounding the price of the new system has been a hot topic on the internet forums, with people making different guesses and supporting them with various justifications and explanations.
Michael Pachter, a Wedbush Securities analyst, is of the opinion that Nintendo will have to set the price of Wii U at $250 of below if it wishes to compete with the Microsoft and Sony consoles. According to him, the Xbox 360 Kinect bundle will have its price dropped to about $250 by the time Nintendo launches its new console and thus any price above this will act as a negative factor as far as the sales of Wii U is considered.
On the other hands, a few sources have revealed a completely different strategy by Nintendo, saying that the company plans on launching Wii u at a price no less than $300 at the end of this year.
Nintendo has been keeping the details of its new console hidden for now, though a proper presentation and first look of the gameplay has been planned for the upcoming E3.
There were a lot of talk about how Nintendo had fallen well behind its market competitors Microsoft and Sony when it came to the console technology and graphics. However, a leaked trailer of Rayman Legends on YouTube has revealed that Nintendo has been listening to its loyalists and finally made some serious improvements to offer them the same level of graphic detail that Xbox 360 and Playstation owners have been enjoying for the past few years.
