U-22 team ready for Palestine tournament
Tuesday, May 1st, 2012 9:12:34 by Shahrukh SohailAccording to PFF officials and Pakistan U-22 team coach Zavisa Milosavljevic, the Green-Shirts are ready to play in the Palestine tournament that starts in May.
The Palestine side visited Pakistan last year and a return game in Gaza was also promised, but due to visa issues it was eventually abandoned.
However according to a PFF official there won’t be any sort of problems this time around and the squad will hopefully have incident-free trip to the Middle-East.
“I think it would be a smooth sailing for the team this time. We have already applied for the visas and hopefully we will get them soon,” the official said.
Pakistan boss Zavisa Milosavljevic also commented on the upcoming tournament, claiming that it will help boost the exposure of the youngsters, as well give them practice matches for their upcoming AFC Qualifiers.
“I think it will be a good opportunity for our boys to gain some experience by playing in a competitive event.”
“We are always in dire need of international matches and Palestine tour will offer us the same which will help us to compose and prepare the side for the slots in Saudi Arabia,” he said.
