Pakistan Peoples’ Party outs Babar Awan
Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012 11:41:16 by Faisal FarooqThe top leadership of the ruling party has taken back last official post from former law minister Babar Awan, in the ongoing process of sidelining him to the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).
In quite an expected move, the PPP leadership replaced Babar Awan with Rukhsana Bangash on his current post of Secretary Finance of the party.
Furthermore, his name also been removed from the party’s website and he is no longer a member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the party. PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has also issued orders to remove the camp office which was stationed at Awan’s residence.
In reply, the former law minister has sent back the security convoy of the Rangers and the police and also returned his bullet-proof vehicle to the Establishment Division.
In the very same day, Awan’s brother Farooq Awan, who was working as a Special Adviser to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has also submitted his resignation to the premier.
Dr. Babar Awan had drawn the ire of the PPP leadership ever since his refusal to testify before the Supreme Court in the contempt of court proceedings against Prime Minister Gilani.
Counsel for the Prime Minister, Aitzaz Ahsan, had asked the court to summon three key witnesses in the case including Babar Awan and two high-ranking bureaucrats.
Despite many saying that his testimony would have made the prime minister’s case stronger, the former law minster and close-friend of President Asif Ali Zardari, however was reported to have promptly declined to appear.
A section of media also reported that the president had rejected an apology by the former law minister for not seconding the premier in court.
In the meantime, Online reported that Babar Awan had also sought a personal meeting with the president in a letter in order to remove the misunderstandings.
The former law minister in the said letter expressed solidarity and loyalty with the PPP but President Zardari refused to meet him at all.

so many things in mind to say……
A crook did not remember that his boss was a bigger crook.
Awan is just opportunists and he is now making efforts to save his lawyer’s license.
Mr. Babar Awan deserves for this treatment as he was working against the interest of people to protect the corrupt leadership and now Inshallah Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan will soon meet the same fate.
