Adolf Hitler’s favourite actor is dead
Friday, May 4th, 2012 5:22:06 by Taimoor TariqJohannes Heesters, who was considered as Nazi ruler Adolf Hitler’s favourite actor, has sadly passed away at the age of 108
The Dutch-born actor passed away at a clinic in Starnberg, southern Germany after a short illness.
Born in 1903 in Amersfoort, Netherlands, Johan Marius Nicolaas Heesters decided to become an actor and a singer at a very young age.
When he was 31, Heesters moved to Germany where he performed for Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. During his stay in Germany, Heesters once visited the Dachau concentration camp which caused outrage in Netherlands.
Many people considered the performer as a crucial part of the Nazi culture which is why he attracted criticism all his life.
Rumours say that Heesters also funded the German war machine though he always denied those accusations until his death.
Way back in December 2010, Heesters spoke about his longevity.
“My secret to a long, healthy life is love and passion; age differences do not matter.”
His popularity under the Third Reich haunted Heesters’ career for the rest of his life which is why he missed out on a lot of laurels which he would have had he not aligned with the Nazis.
His first film was Cirque hollandaise which was directed by Theo Frenkel.
