The contemporary smartphone industry dwells on apps, outlook of the operating system and internet. A better hardware is a plus but as long as it runs the OS smoothly, it’s not a bother to anyone.
However, some technology companies want to impress the world with their latest and greatest hardware whereas, Microsoft has proven that hardware is only means to run the operating system which should be the most efficient cog in the mobile computing machine.
Microsoft entered the current ultra-competitive smartphone industry late but the comeback was blazing and the company astonished the world with its signature mobile operating system, Windows Phone. Its latest instalment, the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, is one of the best mobile operating system in the world. Though the OS is still chasing iOS and Android’s tail in the competition but still it has managed to capture an impressive market share.
There have been a number of WP phones released in the last one year. Microsoft thrives on the slick and simple OS that runs on simple and inexpensive hardware. The company claims that its software is simple and lightweight and does not require hi-tech hardware to run and so far the claim has been upheld by experts from every corner of the world.
Moreover, smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and HTC are taking interest in Windows Phone. Nokia has signed a new contract with Microsoft on a close partnership and resulting Lumia line is running a hot streak.
