PML-N launches protest demonstrations against Prime Minister Gilani
Monday, May 7th, 2012 11:11:30 by Faisal FarooqThe Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) organized protest demonstrations against Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, asking him to quit his post after conviction from the Supreme Court.
The PML-N took out rallies in Karachi and Gujranwala, seeking one objective with different slogans and demands.
The PML-N had announced the launch of its protest demonstrations against the premier’s refusal to step down. The organizers had made arrangements for around 8,000 to 10,000 people, but protestors turned frenzied as they burnt effigies.
Although it was a rally against mismanagement of the government, the PML-N itself failed to organize the event where the PML-N youth wing scuffled with organizers when they tried to get on the stage.
PML-N leader Khwaja Saad Rafique while addressing the Gujranwala rally said the convicted prime minister should resign, else the entire Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government would have to face public justice.
He further said the prime minister was a convict and had no moral ground to govern the country, adding that before the long-march, the PM would have to do a quick march towards the pavilion.
He observed, “We are pro-democracy and have given them time to mend their selves, but instead of doing something for the betterment of the masses they have exploited the whole nation”.
The PML-N leader said the apex court had declared the premier a convict and he should quit his post otherwise a long march will decide his fate. The convicted prime minister was involved in various corruption scandals and had played with the future of the people through nepotism, he added.
The PML-N also organized an anti-government rally at the Karachi Press Club where Saleem Zia, Marvi Memon and Mushahid Ullah addressed the party workers and protestors.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif invited Imran Khan to join his movement to oust Prime Minister Gilani following his conviction by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
However, Imran Khan said he would join the PML-N’s movement if they quit from parliament, which was unacceptable to the Sharif Brothers.

whenever i think about pmln, i get laugh, they don’t know how to do the politics. they are opposing the govt by doing rallies and addresses. its prediction of mine, it is not far, when they will be calm down, and get sit with Govt, in making of the up-comming caretaker setup. pmln can not go beyond at that level from where they would not come again.
