Andrew Govorov wins two gold medals – 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup

Andrew Govorov impressed his supporters by winning gold medals of Men’s 50m and 100m freestyle respectively at the 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup.

At first, Govorov dominated the 50m event, where he gained a slight lead over his rivals in the first half and elevated his pace in the second half, tapping the wall for gold medal by clocking a time of 22.48 seconds.

The champion was trailed by Vladimir Sushchyk of Sticks, who was nearly 0.80 seconds behind and stood on the victory stand for silver medal by reporting a time of 23.21 seconds.

Sushchyk was chased by Yuri Yehoshyn of SLM, who remained 0.23 seconds away and proved his eligibility on the medal rostrum for bronze medal by posting a time of 23.44 seconds.

Subsequently, he grabbed his second gold medal in the 100m discipline. He remained almost two strokes ahead of his strongest opponent on the finishing end for gold medal as he clocked a time of 51.23 seconds.

His gold winning effort remained 0.21 seconds faster from Bogdan Kazakov of ANW, who earned silver medal of the event by clocking a time of 51.44 seconds.

The second position holder was followed by Yuri Yehoshyn of SLM, who suffered a deficit of just 0.08 seconds and posted a time of 51.52 seconds for third position.

Meanwhile, Jan Konovalov dominated the Men’s 200m freestyle, as he hit the finishing blockade with the timing of 1 minute and 50.16 seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by Jaroslav Denisenko of PFA, who stayed 0.86 seconds behind and proved his mettle for second position of the event by submitting a wonderful time of 1 minute and 51.04 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Frolov Sergei of ANW, who stayed 0.29 seconds behind and reached the medal rostrum for bronze medal by reporting a nice time of 1 minute and 51.33 seconds.

Furthermore, the championship ended after the completion of all planned events while the position holders earned awards and accolades for their praiseworthy efforts at the medal distribution ceremony of the championships.
