Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 1:17:34 by Haris AnsariMetallica, an American heavy metal band, kicked off their brief European tour in Czech Republic on Monday, May 7. The band stole the show by performing their groundbreaking 1991 record, The Black Album, in its entirety for the first time ever. In addition,
they played the whole album backwards.
The fans were anticipating that their favourite metal band would be performing the most commercially successful album in their European shows. However, to listen to the whole album was a special treat for the Metal-heads.
“What a great show here in Prague to start off the 20th Anniversary of the Black Album. The band surprised everyone, and played it backwards! During and after Sandman, it was pyro, pyro, pyro, and pyro!!! Sandman had fireworks, Fuel had the big flames…”,
a post on Metallica’s official website stated.
The band started the show with classic hits like Hit the Lights, Master of Puppets and For Whome the Bell Tolls. They then performed the last track of ‘The Black Album’, The Struggle Within.
From there on, the band played the track list of the record in reverse order with closing the set with ‘Enter Sandman’. The band then closed the gig by performing Fuel, One and Seek & Destroy.
