Do want something more than book reading; may be internet, music videos?

If the answer is a yes then the solution to this is two-fold. E-ink readers are only good to the extent of content reading and basic web browsing. However, if you want something more than just reading like portable multimedia device, on which you can watch movies, browse the internet without the restrictions of HTML 5 and Flash, then Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Apple, Samsung and many others offer tablets that can let you do that on a single platform.

Amazon and Barnes & Noble offer the cheapest solutions with Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet, respectively. The former one is available for $199 and Nook Tablet, B&N’s latest iteration in tablets is priced at $249.

However, there are certain set-backs in options on these two tablets. Both do not have Bluetooth radios and they are 7-inch displays. Moreover, both are thicker and heavier than majority of the slates in the market.

What amazing they offer are their respective ecosystems. Amazon has the most comprehensive of them all. Its premium membership offers the best services in the bunch.

Nook’s first colour tablet, Nook Color, is also available in the market with a price less than $150 at some places. It also comes with a 7-inch display.
