Few characters were as curious as Victor Lustig, who is widely believed to be considered the king of the scammers.

Lustig was born in what is now the Czech Republic in January 1890. He had an amazing charisma and a winning smile. While still young he left his country and was engaged to defraud travellers going by ship to New York.

They would be offered a machine that printed on white paper hundred dollar bills. The only complaint was that the machine had only got a ticket every 6 hours. The accounts and then threw unwary were willing to pay thousands of dollars for the wonderful contraption.

The first 12 hours the unit produced two hundred-dollar bills, but after this time leaving only blank paper inside because there were no more tickets. When scammed realized the deception, Lustig was no longer within reach.

After a break in transatlantic travel caused by World War I in 1922 Victor Lustig comes to Missouri. Showing interest in a farm that the bank had foreclosed and that nobody wanted, managed to convince the bankers that he was an Austrian count rundown because
his family had lost all their possessions because of the war.

For this reason, had decided to move to America and rebuild his life living quietly in the field. Liberty offered shares worth $ 22,000 and asked for an advance of $ 10,000 to start operating your new farm. With such a family history of nobility and bankers
happily accepted at the time of the transaction Lustig gave a poke to the envelopes containing the documents, taking the money and stocks.
