Islamabad: (Friday, May 11, 2012) Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, while hearing the security situation in Balochistan and missing person’s case, expressed his anguish over the absence of Inspector
General Frontier Corps (IG FC) Balochistan Obaidullah Khattak. The chief justice said that strict action will be taken if he will not show up in the court.
Expressing his discontent over the IG FC offering a cold shoulder to the court’s orders, the CJ said, “The IG FC will have to come.” He also said that in last hearing, the IG was asked to reproduce the missing persons, why it had
not been done.
He said, “Why haven’t they been brought before the court?” He further asked the IG’s lawyers “Ask the IG at what time he will be able to come today.”
The chief justice lamented that the federal government was not taking interest in the affairs in Balochistan.
The court also order that the CCTV footage from camera outside a private hotel to be presented before it. He said that if the required footage will not be presented, the corps commander would be summoned with the footage.
