Govt fails to protect people; says Fzalur Rehman

Ameer of JUI-F Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has said that for how long people would deprive of law and order. If government cannot provide protection, then it has not any right to collect taxes.

He was speaking to a seminar at Aiwan-i-Iqbal on the topic “Internal and external threats to Pakistan and their solutions” on Sunday. He said that the country is standing on the important turning.

Chaos and massacre has become routine matter. The eminent Islamic scholars like Mufti Mohsin Shah, Maulana Aslam Shiekhupuri and Maulana Naseeb Khan have been slain. The people are fed of the bloodshed.

He said that after the communism, the capitalism is also taking its last breaths. It is the duty of the Muslims to tell the world that Islamic economic system is the last choice for strengthening global economy.

He said that the slogan given at the time of establishment of Pakistan was not fulfilled; now the government gave the catchphrase of providing bread, clothing and shelter to the people, but the common is craving for all three items.

It is the vision of JUI-F, that the continuity of institutions should remain there, the people are always replaced. Constitution has drawn lines for each institution and if all the organizations would work within constitutional orbit, then no confrontation would take place”, he added.

He said that the political powers should learn lesson from the past and avoid creating such tense atmosphere that affects political ambiance in the country. He said that the stability of the region is hiding in the withdrawal of US forces from here.

“America has been black mailing the country for the past 10 years, since it had no foreign policy (of its own),” he asserted, adding the pressure had come from the US at a time when the next year’s budget is round the corner and Prime Minister has become ‘controversial’.

He said the US has lost its temper on seeing the reigns of country’s future going into the hands of the state institutions.
