Since
the energy crisis hit the economy causes a loss of $ 64000000000 in the last four years, the government should give priority to government and industry through the use of all energy sources, including imports of gas and coal industry and ensure its industries
in order to save the economy from collapse .
It was the opinion of experts in the field of energy, speaking at the "4th of Oil and Gas Pakistan Forum 2012"
held here on Saturday.
MOL
Pakistan and Managing Director of Pakistan Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Association (PPEPCA) Erno Liptak Chairman expressed his dissatisfaction over the mouth of the gas cost $ 6.6 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), established in the
new politics of oil in 2012 and said that prices should be brought in line with alternative fuels.
Liptak said that the government should offer incentives for exploration,
adding that it should also take measures to provide one-stop tool for the mining industry.
The price of gas for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India
(TAPI) pipeline is $ 14 to $ 15 per million BTU, while the price of LNG is currently listed at $ 16 to $ 18 per million BTUs.
"Why is the mouth of the gas price is only $ 6/6 in the new politics of oil," he said, and called for a fair
policy.
Speaking on the occasion, independent power
producers (IPP), chairman of the Consultative Council Abdullah Yusuf said that growth was directly linked with the improvement in the energy sector.
"We were unable to maintain the momentum in the oil and gas production, while demand
has grown dramatically," he said, adding distorted tariff regime should be corrected.
All were in favor of gas, because it is cheaper, as the energy sector is not governed in accordance
with international norms and practices, he said.
"We need to identify priority sectors in the supply of gas and the need for policy changes."
Energy and industrial sectors should be given priority while the commercial
and domestic consumers should be in second place, Yusuf suggested.
