Shahrukh Khan doesn’t want people to compare him with Sourav Ganguly
Tuesday, May 15th, 2012 3:49:24 by Imran Shaukat KhanThe King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, is not happy with his comparisons being made with the former KKR’s captain Sourav Ganguly. Therefore, he has asked the fans to ‘grow up’ and stop correlating the two.
“Grow up please. This is sport. Let’s play it like a sport. We keep on talking about Kings and Khans… This is crap to be honest. I say this with love and respect to all of you,” SRK said on the sidelines of the Kolkata Knight Riders post-match party.
Ganguly played the first three seasons of the Indian Premier League as the caption of Shah Rukh Khan’s team Kolkata Knight Rider. However, the left-hander was dumped out of the team afterwards due to his poor performance and he now plays for Pune Warriors, which is owned by the Sahara Group.
Ganguly, who was once the face of Indian cricket team, has not been able to impress the audiences till now as a result to which many out there have started appreciating Khan’s decision. Nevertheless, the actor wants people to get over it and leave the former India skipper alone.
“To be honest, if we don’t outgrow this, it is embarrassing not only to us, not only to me, its embarrassing for Dada also…”
Khan, now 46, insisted that Ganguly has done a lot for the Indian cricket and talking rubbish about such a legend is not fair at all.
“It’s not only unfair to me. It is unfair to the great legend that Sourav Ganguly is… Let him play his cricket, lead his life in whichever team he plays for, whether it’s an Indian team, an IPL team or a domestic team.
“We should all be cheering for the greatness that he has achieved instead of making him small with these comparisons and belittling the importance of what Sourav Ganguly has achieved in Indian sports history,” the actor said.
In the end Khan revealed that he is a very big fan of Ganguly and he loves to watch him play cricket.

Shahrukh always has respect for others, which makes me admire him more and more for the respectable human being he is.
What a strange statement !
Why on earth would anyone want to compare Shahrukh with Ganguly?
Maybe Ganguly’s captaince can be compared to Dhoni’s; or SRK’s comedy with Johny Lever’s… but Ganguly with SRK? Nah.
It’s like Mallya saying don’t compare me with Dravid or
Zinta saying don’t compare with Yuvi.
Hah!
