Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan lashes out at PM Gilani
Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 12:23:36 by Faisal FarooqOpposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan lashed out at Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani over his boastful attitude and ridiculing judgments of the Supreme Court.
While speaking to a private TV channel, he observed, “Restraint in bellowing like actors of Punjabi movies, and refraining from foreign visits at a crucial time would have eased any pressure/barrage of criticism over Gilani”.
He said he had already made out clear that the government would rather stretch the issue after the verdict of the apex court.
Regretting that the opposition parties had been kept in the dark regarding resumptions of NATO supplies, he stated that rulers were wreaking havoc with parliamentary resolutions.
He commented, “The Americans have bought us Pakistanis quite cheaply, but it is worse that our rulers have accepted the issue without any second thoughts, with the army right in tow”.
Chaudhry Nisar said that the PML-N was also threatened during Pakistan’s nuclear explosions, but his party went ahead with nuclear tests and nothing happened. Replying to a query, he denied daring the prime minister from entering parliament.
The violation of law is a matter of dishonor for the common man and the premier publicly touted his loyalty to the president rather than the higher judiciary. In his view the Gilani will not be loyal to the Constitution of Pakistan.
He asserted, “Tearing agendas in assemblies is certainly not a pleasant experience, and I have often warned my party about the issue. But then, the PM is responsible for all these rowdy acts.
The Opposition Leader said he had received a letter from the National Assembly speaker, sent by her secretary. Showing respect for the speaker, he wished that Dr Fehmida Mirza would remain impartial in the whole episode,”
He believed that the speaker’s impartiality would earn her a niche in national history. He also scoffed at dalliance of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who never tired of claiming to be “quite competitive to bring about a change in Pakistan’s politics”.
He was also irritated by the fact that while the entire nation criticized President Asif Zardari, Khan’s energies were devoted solely against the Punjab government and the PML-N.
