Successful employees are more active on Social networks: Google
Thursday, May 17th, 2012 10:47:04 by Farasat AliWorkers who use social tools as part of their work tend to be more successful, more productive and happier with their work professionally, according to a study conducted by a consultancy firm under Google.
According to the survey, 86% of the respondents who use the social networking too regularly said that they had recently been promoted in recent years. It has also been concluded that companies that use social networks grow faster than those that ignore them.
The study analyzes the use of social tools in business. The consultancy firm used a sample of 2,700 online interviews conducted in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and the UK.
Of the 300 respondents in Spain, there are people who feel that these tools represent a waste of time, 33% of the sample, according to the director of the consultancy firm, Jose Martinez.
Still, the study noted that these mechanisms contribute to maintain contact with customers, improve internal communication, reduce the volume of emails and create business communities to share, collaborate and innovate as it involves better employees in the
company’s development.
The director of Google Enterprise Spain and Portugal, Niels-Christian Krüger noted that social tools change the way in which ideas materialize.
"We shall soon see how sharing online is as natural in business as it is in private life. Perhaps that is why the search is preparing to launch G + as an internal social tool in bigger companies. It will be a surcharge, with options similar to the particular
version (chat, video, document sharing) which can be accessed via mobile.”
The study also revealed that senior executives use social tools more often compared with the younger employees.
Most interviewees agreed that social tools can change your business strategy and increase productivity, in order to find information faster, getting qualified staff and gathering ideas and suggestions from a geographically dispersed team.
