The audio system has five sources to play audio and video, including Bluetooth wireless connectivity to iPod Touch and other mobile phones like iPhone, SD card slot, USB port, and iPod connector. The Bluetooth also streams phone calls for hands-free interaction.

In addition to Radio, Player and Phone, the touch screen also has icons for Navigation, Controls, Climate and More. The driver can fiddle with settings in the Controls and can also check the weather in Climate section.

There are three separate modules of voice recognition for navigation, general commands for audio/video playback and settings, and phone calls. The navigation is provided by Garmin and is not pre-installed but optional. The Nav system costs $995 upon installation.

Though it costs a fortune, the Sat/Nav is one of the best in the hoard. It can also be found in SXT and SRT8 but VR has been revamped. The computer recognizes the commands easily, all the driver has to say ‘Destination’ to kick start the feature followed by the address.

The second VR module is dedicated to the audio system. The driver has to push the VR button to feature. This is also of premium quality. Once the source of multimedia files is attached to the system it makes a metadata file all the stuff on the source. VR matches the command with the database and plays the file instantly. The radio can also be turned on with VR system.

The third module starts with the phone call button on the steering wheel. This particular system works solely for connecting and accepting phone calls. Although it is a bit tricky to find the required name from the phonebook as it ranges from generally named people to Schwanski’s, but Garmin has done a pretty good job at enhancing the databases and making the software more interactive.
