Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster 2012: Full Review – Part 3
Saturday, May 19th, 2012 5:57:27 by Usman KhalidThe system can be upgraded to a premium package delivered by Bang and Olufsen. The company has been going great in car stereos and of late has produced many good systems that leave a good impression on driver’s ears. This particular system that Aston Martin offer is a 13 speaker system that beefs up the watts to four figures, 1000. It reproduces the tunes in a very mesmerising way and the quality is sharp with details only some can match.
Aston Martin offers the Sat/Nav built by Garmin navigation systems and it works well. The only turn off is that the system is prone to stuck in the phone mode every time the navigation or the player option is activated. The remedy is in manually plugging the iPod or USB to kick start the stereo system. Unfortunately, there is no Bluetooth integration, nor is there any other storage option like SD card slot or system’s own memory.
The coach work is a plus which gives the feeling of a typical English design predominant with leather and chromic metal finish. The seats are comfortable offering easy accessibility to the dashboard. The front panel behind the steering wheel is a matter of getting used to. The RPM gauge is a mirror orientation of the speedometer, which is not what you see in an everyday car.
Conclusion
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster offers best performance out of a small engine like V8 instead of V12, now seen in most of the company’s products. The engine makes a growling sound that would interest some gear-/petrol-heads. However, the power dips in transmission leave a lot to be desired.
The stereo is great but the premium package brings a lot more to the table.
All in all, the whole package brings a good car to drive but the price at $131,995 is a lot to ask for.
