Karachi: (Monday, May 21, 2012) The Difa-e-Pakistan Council has scheduled a countrywide protest and ‘long march’ against the possible resumption of the Nato supplies.
The schedule of the long march has been planned and prepared by the organizing committee of the DPC in its meeting that took place yesterday in Mansoora. Jamat-e-Islami member, Mr. Liaquat Baloch chaired the meeting.
As per the details, the long march will begin in Karachi on May 27, while it will end here in Islamabad on June 6.
The said march will kick off from Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi, the economic hub of the country, on May 27 after the afternoon prayers. It is expected to reach Hyderabad the same evening. The march will then proceed while making
stops at Sukkur, Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan, and Sahiwal before reaching Lahore on June 2.
The participants of the March will stay in Lahore until the next day where from it will resume its journey to Islamabad along with Gujranwala, Jehlum, finally reaching the federal capital on June 6.
The DPC organizing committee was hopeful that the people in different cities will not only welcome the marchers, but they would also like to join them.
The organizing committee of the march is comprised of Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Maulana Amir Hamza , Qari Qari Zawar Bahadur, Maulana Abdur Rauf Farooqi, Allama Shamsur Rahman, Moawya, Qari Mansoor Ahmed and others.
