Wendy Rodriguez and Adolfo Delgado captured gold medals of Women’s 50m freestyle and 1500m freestyle on final day of the Venezuela Open Championships.
The first event of the session was 50m freestyle, where Rodriguez stayed slightly ahead of her subsequent challenger and tapped the wall with the timing of 26.83 seconds.
The gold medallist was trailed by Erika Torrellas, who remained just 0.11 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing blockade for second position by producing a time of 26.94 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Ximena Vilar, who stayed marginally slower and settled on the victory stand for bronze medal by submitting a time of 27.05 seconds.
Following that, the audience witnessed laudable efforts of Bonsanti, who dominated the playoff of 1500m freestyle.
The 17-year-old Bonsanti remained considerably faster from her closest challenger as she hit the finishing wall with the timing of 17 minutes and 41.39 seconds.
The champion was chased by Florencia Melo, who stayed almost six seconds slower and emerged on the finishing blockade for silver medal by producing a time of 17 minutes and 47.76 seconds.
Third position of the event was secured by Paola Perez, who stayed nearly nineteen seconds slower and ended her pace in a time of 18 minutes and 06.79 seconds.
In the meantime, the crowd witnessed splendid performance of Jeserick Pinto, who seized gold medal of the Women’s 100m backstroke.
The 22-year-old Pinto enjoyed a lead of almost half body length over her strongest competitor and earned her way to the finishing blockade for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 05.01 seconds.
The champion stayed nearly 0.60 seconds ahead of Elimar Barrios, who followed her on the victory stand for silver medal by reporting a time of 1 minute and 05.59 seconds.
Bronze medal of the event was earned by Maria L Ramirez, who was almost one and a half body length slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 07.01 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holder received medals for their laudable efforts at the prize ceremony of the championship.
