Google Chrome becomes the most used web browser, recent stats show – Part 1
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 5:52:27 by Usman KhalidGoogle, Inc. has taken serious steps in promoting its flagship web browser that goes by the name Chrome. Since its launch in December 2008, the browser has been adopted by million, if not billions, of users in the world. Google’s hard work and heavy advertisement has finally paid off as an independent research company, StatCounter, named Chrome the most used browser of the year. According to the stats that the company holds, Chrome accounted for around 15 Billion web page views, making it the most used browser in the world. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) dropped down to second position, after decades of rule on the web browsing market.
Though the stats show a clear difference in the usage of both software, many experts are still waiting for more research companies to come up with their results to pass the final verdict.
However, even though the final decision on who rules web surfing is still to be made, the results that StatCounter showed are staggering. One of the most prominent conclusions one can draw from the results is the major shift of users from IE to Chrome, despite the fact that IE comes pre-installed in Windows operating system, the world’s most used OS.
Chrome has evolved into an integrated platform for web searching, social networking on the likes of Google+ and Facebook and general web browsing. It has integrated Google search in the web address to bring ease to the user. On Chrome one needs not go to Google.com to type in a quarry, just type in the address bar and Google search page will pop up with the same results.
