Javed Akhtar feels Shah Rukh Khan’s punishment is a little too harsh
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 3:40:01 by Imran Shaukat KhanThe Indian poet, lyricist and scriptwriter, Javed Akhtar, has come out in support of Shah Rukh Khan, who has been banned by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for five years from entering the Wankhede Stadium.
The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, is the co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but he landed in the middle of a controversy last Wednesday night when he got into an ugly brawl with the MCA officials.
The superstar afterwards claimed in a press conference outside his Mumbai home that the officials manhandled his kids as a result to which he got provoked. However, MCA believe that SRK allegedly misbehaved with the MCA officials and security personnel as a result to which they have slapped a five-year ban on him.
“I don’t know what has happened in detail. But from whatever I know, I feel it’s more of an overreaction. I don’t know exactly what happened, so I can’t judge. But there is no need to react like this. I have no right to take sides, but I feel that the punishment is a little harsh,” Javed told reporters in Mumbai on Saturday when asked about his views on the issue.
Well, all said and done, many out there are of the view that whatever SRK did in the stadium was not right and one of them is none other than IPL party girl Rozlyn Khan.
The bootilicious babe, who dared to bare her butt plastered with the IPL tattoo for a photo shoot, reckons Khan has defamed IPL.
“Shahrukh Khan has given a bad name to IPL. Frankly speaking, all these pangas and scandals didn`t happen during the IPL matches, they happened either after a match, or during the after-parties. But all these things have earned a bad reputation for IPL,” said Rozlyn in an interview.
