Pooja Bhatt, Lara Dutta, Sonali Bendre comes in support of Ashwarya Rai

Bollywood actress Ashwarya Rai is set to make an appearance at the Cannas festival. She has appeared at the International film festival 10 times before but this time her appearance on the red carpet is certainly going to be the most talked about and the reason behind is obviously her post-pregnancy weight gain.

Former Miss World Ashwarya Rai, who was once the face of Indian cinema, is being criticised a lot these days because for the past six months she is constantly putting on weight and many out there believe it is not fair as they think being an actress it is her responsibility to look good.

However, the likes Pooja Bhatt, Lara Dutta and Sonali Bendre have come out in rescue of the actress.

Pooja Bhatt supported Ashwarya Rai Bachchan and wrote on Twitter, “Find this debate about Aishwarya Rai’s weight inane. She is a gorgeous woman period. All the ugly people being malicious should take a hike!”

Dutta, who also had a baby not too long ago, stated no one has any rights to say anything about Ashwarya’s weight gain because she is not working for at this point in time.

Dutta told a leading daily, “You have no rights to pass comments on a woman like Aishwarya, who has gone through a hard time during pregnancy. I didn’t put on weight because I practiced yoga during my pregnancy, but that’s a personal choice which may not be the case with Ash. So, please refrain from getting judgmental.”

Sonali Bendre too requested people to let Ashwarya enjoy her happy phase of life.

Bendre said, “People are being too harsh on Aishwarya. She has just had a baby. She deserves a break. Please let her be. Let her enjoy this happy phase of her life.”

Well, all said and done, Ashwarya Rai is not appearing at the festival to promote any cosmetic brand so let’s hope no one criticises her for putting on weight over there.
