David Ellefson: Metallica and Megadeth supergroup would be a blast
Thursday, May 24th, 2012 12:38:13 by Haris AnsariMegadeth and Metallica supergroup is wildly discussed for the past couple of weeks. Dave Mustaine was the first to bring up the idea, but James Hetfield denied and stressed that the idea does not sound appropriate.
David Ellefson, the Megadeth bassist, has now come up with an interesting statement that suggests that it would be a great success if the two bands form such a supergroup. However, the bassist has admitted that it seems very unlikely that this kind of project
will occur.
“It would be fun to do it; I think Dave just threw that out as kind of a wish list. I don’t know if it’s ever going to be a reality. A lot of people got excited over a thought of it. If it would happen, absolutely I’d participate. I think it would be a blast”,
Ellefson said in a recent interview.
Mustaine, who is also known to make silly statements, said in an interview couple of months back that President Obama was not born in U.S.
Ellefson also defended his band mate and revealed that freedom of speech in America allows everyone to express his opinions without any hesitation.
“Those are Dave’s feelings and opinions and here in America with our freedom of speech and liberties that we have, every one of us can voice their own opinion. Megadeth has always been a band that has been about people’s personal freedom and liberties anyway.
Provided that it doesn’t hurt other people, there’s nothing wrong with it”, the bassist stated.
