IAEA set to reach agreement with Tehran over its nuclear program
Thursday, May 24th, 2012 6:39:00 by Taimoor TariqReports claim that the International Atomic Energy Association and Tehran are on the verge of reaching an early agreement over the country’s nuclear program
An agreement will soon be reached between Iran and Western powers according to the Director General of IAEA.
The major powers and Iran will meet on Wednesday in hopes of halting an escalating crisis over Iran’s nuclear program. However, Israel has welcomed IAEA and Tehran’s stance of closing in on the agreement earlier than expected.
The DOG of International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Armano claims that significant developments have been made between the western powers and Tehran.
However, there is nothing conclusive about these reports as a couple of Western diplomats claim that there has been no breakthrough so far but claim that further meetings in Vienna will give a more ‘clearer picture’.
On Tuesday, Israel expressed its scepticism over the agreement.
“We have seen how agreements between the IAEA and Iran were flagrantly violated by Iran. Iran is always looking to destroy Israel and threatens world peace,” lamented Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu.
The PM has also urged negotiators to grant Tehran no concessions whatsoever.
