Akshay Kumar: I have great respect for Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan

Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan locked many headlines in the country a few days back because both archrivals surprised everyone with an unexpected bonding session during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

However, now the Khiladi of the Indian film industry has brought another twist in the story. Akshay, who is famous for his daredevil stunts, has said that he has great respect for SRK and Saif Ali Khan due to the challenging action sequences they do.

Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan faced much criticism when there action films like ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Agent Vinod’ failed to impress the audiences. Nevertheless, Akshay thinks people should appreciate the actor since he puts in a lot of hard work while making an action movie.

“When a gut-wrenching action film that you have spilt blood for doesn’t get appreciated, it’s a grave let down for any actor. That’s why I have nothing but great respect for actors like Saif and Shah Rukh. Their action scenes have been more than supreme,” says the Rowdy Rathore actor, seemingly referring to films like Don 2 (2011), RA.One (2011) and Agent Vinod (2012).

“I just wish people understood what they would have gone through to make these films, maybe then they would be kind,” says Akshay.

In the end, Akshay also talked about Prabhu Deva’s upcoming action film ‘Rowdy Rathore’, which will feature him in the lead role.

“I salute every single character in Rowdy Rathore. Right from the action stunts to the songs, none of it has been an easy ride for us. We have had some rough situations, but every drop of sweat has been worth it, and now we just pray it gets the appreciation it deserves,” he says. “Prabhudheva is a masala genius and I would really do anything to have the pleasure of working with him again.”

Akshay Kumar will be seen on the big screen on June 1.
