The market has been hoarded with gaming laptops this year. Samsung has shown interest in manufacturing high-end laptops but to date no mentionable gaming laptops was introduced. However, the Korean company has made its presence in this small but very important market segment with a new notebook called Samsung Series 7 Gamer.

The new laptop carries the family name of the company’s line of high-end notebooks with an addition moniker of ‘Gamer’. This new laptop takes advantage of the new third-generation Ivy Bridge processors from Intel and latest release of high-end graphics cards from NVIDIA.

Intel launched quad-core versions of the new Ivy Bridge CPUs first. The dual-core and Ultrabook-optimized Core i3 and i5 processors will follow later in the summer. The new quad-core processors made a loud noise before its release and satisfyingly the new iteration lived up to its hype. Several tests have shown its superior quality both in laptops and desktops over last year’s Sandy Bridge processors.

Samsung Series 7 Gamer has all of above top-end specs in it, a quad-core Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce dedicated GPU and 16 GB of RAM. However, that all comes at a cost of a hair below $1900 and a bulky design that touches down at 2-inches.

However, albeit the design it packs a muscle and good features both on and under the hood. A powerful processor, high-end graphics, full HD display, a number of dedicated buttons and cool and futuristic animations for Game Mode.
