The Series 7 Gamer has a large footprint at 16.1 inches in width, 11.2 inches in length and 2 inches in depth. It boasts a 17.3-inch display that has 1920×1080 pixels crammed into the real estate. It weighs hefty at 8.2 pounds but for enthusiastic gaming that all is ignorable. However, do not show off this device in public, people will suspect you have been living under a rock for the last one decade.

There are a lot of ports on this fellow. Two USBs 2.0, two USBs 3.0, an HDMI, a VGA and a Display port, engraved on either side of the device. There is also a 7-in-one card reader for some flash memory, and a Blu-Ray ROM for playing media and games directly from the optical source.

The dock contains a number of dedicated touch buttons and a very wide spread keyboard and a touch pad. All of them are LED back lit with different colours that kick in with their respective computing modes.

There is an old-fashioned silver knob at the right side that does the trick for different modes from “Green Mode,” “Library Mode” (which automatically mutes audio), “Balanced Mode,” and “Game Mode”.

The Game Mode is special to notice as it does not only bring a different colour to the keyboard and buttons but it also brings the desktop into an overly stated and animated mood that might be of some interest to the gamers.

The keyboard is huge covering edge-to-edge area and is backlit. The keys are big with concave design on the top to hold fingers firmly. Keys W, A, S and D have been given a different pale orange colour for secondary directional pad on multi-player mode in games.

The touch pad is smooth with matte finish and the right/left click strip is separated with an LED lit thin stripe to offer bearings to the user while gaming. The touch pad boasts multi-touch gestures but is not as sensitive as MacBooks, which is common for PCs, no biggie.

Above the keyboard are a number of keys from volume mute to Wi-Fi On/Off button to brightness control. This all is present on a shinny plastic strip and looks attractive.
