Federica Pellegrini and Radoslaw Kawecki snared gold medals of the Women’s 200m freestyle and Men’s 200m backstroke at the European Long Course Championships.
Pellegrini smothered her opponents in the 200m discipline and ensured her place on top of the podium for gold medal.
With her immaculate pace, she stayed considerably faster from her closest swimmers and tapped the finishing wall for gold medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 56.76 seconds.
The champion was chased by Silke Lippok of Germany, who suffered a deficit of almost 1.50 seconds and posted a time of 1 minute and 58.19 seconds for silver medal.
Similarly, Lippok enjoyed a lead of 0.04 seconds over her strongest challenger, Ophelie Cyrielle Etienne of France, who proved her mettle for bronze medal of the discipline by clocking a time of 1 minute and 58.23 seconds.
Following that, the audience witnessed alluring efforts of Kawecki in the distant backstroke discipline. Kawecki enjoyed and advantage of almost half body length over his closest challenger and tapped the finishing end for the crown of the event by reporting
a time of 1 minute and 55.28 seconds.
The champion was followed by Peter Bernek of Hungary, who was 0.60 seconds apart and reached the medal rostrum for silver medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 55.88 seconds.
Third position of the race was secured by Yakov Yan Toumarkin of Israel, who was nearly 1.50 seconds slower and settled on the finishing blockade with an effort of 1 minute and 57.35 seconds.
After that, Damir Dugonjic dominated the final round of Men’s 50m breaststroke. He served notice of his talent by winning gold medal of the discipline with the timing of 27.32 seconds.
He was chased by Fabio Scozzoli of Italy, who remained 0.17 seconds slower and finished second in the event with the timing of 27.49 seconds.
Scozzoli was followed by Panagiotis Samilidis of Greece, who settled on the finishing blockade as bronze medallist by clocking a time of 27.64 seconds.
Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all planned events in Men and Women’s category.
