Islamabad: (Monday, May 28, 2012) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said today in a conference that PTI will not make alliance with the parties that are supporting the government and working to defend the status
quo.
Imran said that besides others, the status quo parties included Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
Imran Khan was of the view that the parties that are supporting present regime cannot claim to be anti status quo.
Replying to a question about MQM, Imran said, “By being a coalition partner, MQM is protecting Pakistan’s most corrupt government.”
Commenting on PML-N, the chairman PTI said that it has damaged Pakistan by playing a friendly opposition.
Without mentioning names, Imran claimed that many members of different parties have contacted him and asked if the PTI will accept them. He said, “We (PTI) told them that we cannot because they don’t fit in”.
Yesterday, while addressing a rally in Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi, Imran Khan referred to the results of a survey recently conducted, which mentions that PTI’s popularity has gone up to 33 % in Punjab.
