Which one is a better choice: Samsung Galaxy S III or iPhone 4S – Part 2
Monday, May 28th, 2012 6:51:50 by Usman KhalidThe main difference is in the pixel density. The 4S has the thickest pixel density in the world. None of other handsets have reached the pinnacle that iPhone 4 and 4S have reached. However, S III has more pixels than 4S. At 1280×720 native resolution, it sports an HD display that is normally called 720p resolution.
Though it is quite difficult to discern between the pixels of S III’s screen but for bragging rights the advantage goes to Apple for a paper-like display that is very smooth and soothing to the eyes.
However, the current era does not always go for one aspect of a tech. There are several features that make a marvellous screen. S III incorporates Full HD Super AMOLED display technology that beams out vivid colour and deeper contrasts for better viewing. On the other hand, 4S offers more natural colours, thanks to the IPS+ panel inside the chassis.
In the sum of it, the iPhone has more nature encapsulated while the S III offers feasible visual both indoors and outdoors with vivid colours.
In built quality Apple is a premium phone with exquisite glass material making up the front and the back of the handset. There are two metal pieces in the middle that are part of the chassis and work as antennae for WiFi and GSM receivers.
The S III has an overall plastic finish, which is not cheap and is off good quality but is less attractive than iPhone 4S. However, the plastic build has help in reducing the weight of S III dramatically.
Operating System
Both handsets use entirely different platforms in their operating systems. On one hand we have iPhone 4S that uses Unix-based iOS 5.0 to 5.1.1 and on the other we have Galaxy S III that use Linux-based Android OS 4 Ice Cream Sandwich, or 4.2.3 with Touch Wiz from Samsung.
