Which one is a better choice: Samsung Galaxy S III or iPhone 4S – Part 4

Videos are more fun on SIII, basically because of a larger screen. Both capture 1080p full HD videos in smooth transactions. 4S records videos in 30 frames per second rate and S III does the same in 29 fps rate. But S III’s camera exposes the scene better capturing more in the scene than 4S.

S III’s camera app has more options as to scene modes and colour optimizations whereas, 4S has only two options, turn On/Off Grid and HDR Mode.

Music Player

Music players in smartphone or any other mobile devices are most used apps. Therefore, it is imperative for manufacturers to bring forth the best audio quality in a very feasible manner. iPhone’s music player is very intuitive, as is Samsung’s. Both reproduce the best sound quality there is available in the market.

However, difference comes in options. To toggle a specific equalizer profile the user has to jump to settings in iOS to turn on a specific option whereas, everything music is available in the Android’s music player.

Video View

Videos are more fun on S III largely due to the bigger screen and AMOLED display. The phone shows full HD videos in edge-to-edge screen ratio. iPhone’s screen is small and when compared to S III it leaves something to be desired.

Moreover, the biggest hurdle in iPhones is the synchronization. The user has to go through a gauntlet of steps on iTunes to sync audio and video files with the iPhone. On S III, everything can be done by simple downloading the files on the phone’s memory. S III also has more file extensions playable on the video player.

Performance

Call quality is the same on both handsets but iPhone has some noise from the speakers’ end but that is not a big deal as it is barely noticeable.

Web browsing has always been iPhone’s stronghold and to date no one has ever won the battle in terms of speeds and smoothness of the Safari browser. On WiFi, the speeds are fast and web pages open seamlessly. Magnification and scrolling are smoother there is no stutter whatsoever.

4S is HSPA+ whereas, S III is 4G LTE. Therefore, It is needless to compare the speeds over cellular wireless networks, S III is a clear winner in this regard.

Conclusion

The comparison boils down to two conclusions. Both phones are made for different category of users. iPhone is intuitive and easy to user. Those who are not tech-savvy and/or are shifting from JAVA phones to mobile computing devices, iPhone 4S is the best choice. Moreover, the handset is still the best alternative of portable gaming consoles.

The S III is for tech geeks who do most of their online work on the go. It has bigger screen which makes it a better choice for video watching and text messaging.
