Shah Rukh Khan’s Wankhede ban still to be discussed: MCA officials

Yesterday, the Mumbai Cricket Association’s President Vilsarao Deshmukh stated that the managing committee has left it to him and other office bearers to deal with Shah Rukh Khan’s five-year ban from entering the Wankhede Stadium. However, another MCA official has said that the matter is still to be discussed and was not on the agenda of the meeting which was held on Monday.

“It was a regular meeting to discuss routine issues. The matter of reviewing any decision taken earlier was not on the agenda of the meeting. Any decision taken earlier stands,” senior official and MCA treasurer Ravi Savant told PTI on Tuesday.

Deshmukh insisted yesterday that the issue of SRK needs to be resolved on immediate basis but as per Savant, it has been left for the time being since the committee wants to get some more details on it.

“A meeting of the committee was convened to discuss routine matters, but this matter of Shahrukh Khan was raised by some members. It was decided to leave it to the president and office-bearers to get more details about what transpired yesterday,” said MCA chief and union minister Deshmukh.

Shah Rukh Khan, who co-owned the Indian Premier League ‘Kolkata Knight Riders’, landed in the middle of a controversy when he got into an ugly brawl with a guard at the Wankhede Stadium after the match of his team with Mumbai Indians ended.

Nevertheless, the 46-year-old actor apologized to the fans right after his team won the IPL 5 final against the Chennai Super Kings. Therefore, let’s see if MCA spares him for his misbehaviour.

SRK was quoted as saying, “I want to apologise to the kids for my misbehaviour at MCA. I apologise to all who saw me differently. I shouldn’t have behaved in that manner. But today my team has won, so I guess, all you fans should forgive me. We have won at last.”
