Karachi: (Wednesday, May 30, 2012) Seven people, including a political activist were killed in Karachi yesterday as the economic hub of Pakistan continue to burn under the fire of mis-governance and poor law and order situation.
The renewed wave of killing and violence rocked the metropolitan city as member of a political party, Imran Baig lost his life in a firing incident in Shah Faisal Colony. The incident rendered routine life paralyzed and erupted
panic and chaos in the locality rendering most of the shops closed for normal business.
In similar incidents at the hands of unidentified armed men, Mehdi Raza and Ahmer Raza were killed in Orangi Town number 10 near Aslam Shaheed Roundabout.
Moreover, a tortured dead-body was found from Lyari River and two other dead-bodies were found from Lyari Timber Market area. The dead were later on recognized as residents of Liaquatabad’s Angara Goth.
Earlier, a man identified as Abdul Ghafar, who was injured by unidentified attackers’ firing, succumbed to death during the medical treatment.
In another incident, Civil Judge Syed Zaheer Ahmed Naqvi sustained severe injuries when he was attacked near Federal B. Area block 17. Lawyers and judicial staff boycotted the courts in protest against the incident.
Meanwhile, the government that is making frantic efforts to control this killing replaced Commander Shaukat with Mushtaq Meher as DIG Sindh.
As the violence is increasingly being unstoppable and the law and order situation is not being improved even a bit, the shop keepers and small business owners kept their shops shut in the capital of Sindh province.
