Toshiba Excite 10 (2012): Full Review – Part 3

Though it has the necessary applications needed for general use, it lacks the population that Samsung or HTC provide to their users. Moreover, the user will have to download the App Place app from the App Place website and then install. The biggest flaw of the App Place however, is the lack of a search function; the user has to know the application by category and comb through the lists to find it.
Under the hood lies a powerful quad-core Tegra 3 processor supported by 1 GB of RAM. This makes Excite 10 the forth tablet to come with the Tegra 3 technology.
The device comes in 3 storage denominations, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. However, the most amazing is the capability to support 128 GB of flash memory from an outside source. This brings the total storage in a 64 GB version up to 192 GB, which comes at par with any ultrabook in the market.
802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, gyroscope, accelerometer and digital compass are all standard issues from Toshiba.
Performance
Though there is only a small number of applications in the market to utilize the power of Tegra 3 but every one of them counts. Games like Rapitide GP runs seamlessly on Excite 10, thanks to high-power CPU and GPU. With all the details at full blast, including the screen water splash effect, the aforesaid game ran at 60 frames per second.
Navigation is smoother and web-page scroll is without any clipping. The blur feature while scrolling is working marvels for ICS. The menu navigation is very smooth as well.
