Islamabad: (Saturday, June 02, 2012) The Supreme Court of Pakistan, while accepting the applications submitted by Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), has decided to initiate hearing on Speaker National
Assembly’s ruling from June 6.
In her ruling upon the contempt of court case, speaker NA Dr Fehmida Mirza had declared Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani innocent, and thus, suspended his expected disqualification from the NA.
While the speaker’s decision was widely perceived to be biased and partial, the two mainstream opposition parties have filed the applications to take up the case in the apex court all over again.
