Sohail Tanveer included in the ODI squad

Team Pakistan has decided to include the fast bowler, Sohail Tanveer for the ODI series in Sri Lanka.

The left-arm bowler was splendid during the opening two T 20’s which is the main reason behind his inclusion for the 50 over format of the game.

It has been reported that the Sohail splendid performance has convinced the Team Managers and will now replace Nasir Jamshed for the coming matches.

Nasir Jamshed was due to represent Team Pakistan in Sri Lanka but had to amend his plans because of the training injury.

Sohail’s inclusion was confirmed by the team’s Chief Selector Iqbal Qasim who briefed that Sohail has earned the spot after his tremendous effort with the ball during the opening matches of the series.

Iqbal said in a Pakistan Cricket Board statement, “In view of the request from the team management and keeping in consideration the current form of Tanvir”.

“The selection committee has decided that he may be retained for the one-day series in Sri Lanka,” he concluded.

Tanvir was declared the man of the series during the two-match T20 series. Pakistan lost the first match with 23 runs but came back strong with a convincing 37 run victory.

The two sides are set to play the first of five-match series at Pallekele on Thursday followed by three test matches.

Sohail Tanvir has captured 55 wickets in 43 ODI appearances throughout his career and his current form can make a significant difference in Team Pakistan’s bowling attack.
