Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan urges the Supreme Court to give clear verdicts

Father of Pakistan’s nuclear programme and national hero Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan said ambiguity in the Supreme Court’s decisions has opened it to ridicule.
Speaking to a ceremony hosted by Lahore Bar Association, the renowned scientist urged the apex court to decide all the cases on merit.
Saying that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is still in office despite being convicted by the court, he observed, “If the SC said that Gilani could be disqualified; why did they not disqualify him themselves?”
In his view, likewise ambiguous decision had been handed down in the case concerning Rehman Malik’s dual nationality.
It is vital to mention here that he had been re-appointed adviser to the prime minister after his membership of Senate was suspended by the Supreme Court.
Dr Qadeer informed that Rehman Malik was not only public official in the country with a dual nationality, adding the apex court is required to set down clear guidelines to deal with such cases.
He noted, “The youth must exercise their right to vote in the coming elections to bring sincere leaders to power to replace the current lot of politicians. The fact that most of Pakistan’s 40 million young registered voters did not vote reflected poorly on the people. He said that everyone must vote to improve things in Pakistan”.
The nuclear scientist lamented that corrupt politicians were looting the people while claiming to be pro-democratic.
Expressing disappointment over the massacres in Karachi, he said that people being killed in drone attacks in the tribal areas were being falsely labeled militants and insurgents.
He urged the lawyers’ community to maintain the dignity of their black coats and not throw shoes at judges.
Commenting about politics, he said, “Politics leads to [perils like] Kufa but if a situation arises, I will tread that path. I was offered nationality in Saudi Arabia and UAE but I preferred to live in Pakistan”.
The scientist also said that Pakistan was capable of not only manufacturing drones but also shooting them down with Hamza missiles.

First time I have ever agreed with Dr Qadeer.He is right that the supreme court should give clear and unambiguous judgements instead of passing the ball into others courts.It is that lack of clear and decisive action that is causing all the problems.
