Five easy steps to stay safe: Do not play or get played in a professional environment – Part 1

The work place is always a tricky venue to dwell and the term office-politics has become synonymous to normal routine at work. Since the corporate sector has evolved exponentially and multi-national companies have probed into the Pakistani economy more rapidly in the last two decades, work place has become more dishonest with backstabbers lurking under the disguise of friendly faces.

This puts up a challenge for those who are not into office politics and are too naïve to understand that office politics. From a sub-ordinate to higher officials, everybody has a probe or is a probe to snitch on the working of those who have the potential to fall victim to politics.

What makes it more complicated is that no formal education is given to the students on how to cope with this dilemma. Those who believe in hard work and put their honest efforts in their jobs have seen this on daily basis that someone else takes the credit for the work they have done or initiated in the first place.

We used to see this in movies but now all of this has become reality because offices are now full of probes and politicians. There is little for those who cannot counterattack it, have low tendency to ward off such situations or even stay away from them in the first place.

However, there are certain things in the control of an employee, who does not to get involved in such activities.

Trust

It certainly goes without saying that trust is the most important factor in maintain your profile and keeping it clean. As much you seek trust from other, it is important the same that you give trust to others.
