Veena Malik: I’m all for homosexuality
Friday, June 8th, 2012 3:51:44 by Imran Shaukat KhanPreviously, Hollywood celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga stood up for the equality of every citizen. However, this time the controversial queen of Pakistan Veena Malik, who rose to fame during her stint in the Bigg Boss house, has voiced her support for the LGBT community, as the actress believes everyone has the right to live their life on their own terms and nobody should invade someone’s personal space.
She said, “I’m all for homosexuality, and I don’t feel awkward supporting the LGBT community. I personally feel every person has the right to live their life on their own terms and nobody should interfere in their personal life. I’m glad people have opened up and are game to discuss sexual orientation now. Soon, they will be in a mindset to accept homosexuality as well.”
Malik, who has always locked headlines for wrong reasons in the country, is gearing up for the release of her first Bollywood film ‘Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai’ at this point in time and she thinks heroines should not shy away from item songs.
While speaking on her inclusion, Malik insisted that item songs are more challenging for the heroines and they should not shy away from them at all.
“An item song is a huge responsibility and I would say that heroines should not shy away from them,” said Veena at the music launch of her debut Hindi film Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai.
In the meantime, the actress expressed her thought over her debut film. She said she is really happy as she is doing female-oriented films.
“I am doing five-six female-centric films but at the same time I am doing item numbers. I did Channo, one in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and very soon I’ll do another,” she added.
Well, all said and done, let’s see what response Veena Malik gets on her statement because homosexuality is generally considered as a taboo subject of Indian civil society.
