‘Ghazal King’ Mehdi Hassan hospitalized again!

Legendary Pakistani singer, Mehdi Hassan, who is often referred to as the King of Ghazal, was released from the hospital last month but just after one day the doctors admitted him back in the hospital due to his health problems.

Hassan was previously put on ventilator but now he is not on it anymore. The news was confirmed by his son Arif.

“My father has been ill for the last 12 years but this year his condition has deteriorated significantly and in the last one month he was released from hospital for just one day before being admitted again,” his son Arif said.

“He is admitted in the ICU of Aga Khan hospital for last one week but he is not on a ventilator,” he added.

The 85-year-old living legend was born in a village called Luna in Rajasthan, India before he migrated to Pakistan in 1974. Hassan, who has a huge fan following all over the world, is suffering from lung, chest and urinary tract ailments for the past many years as a result to which he left singing in the late 80s.

While talking to the media, Hassan’s son urged everyone to pray for his father’s health.

“My father stopped singing after that visit as his health fell away and he developed lot of complications because of his age. Doctors are doing their best and we can only appeal to everyone to pray for his health,” Arif said.

Mehdi Hassan’s son, not too long ago, also appealed for donations from the government and other institutions for his father’s medical treatment because, as per the reports, the Ghazal maestro has gone in dent to the tune of Rs 5.2 million, an amount that has been spent of his medical treatment.

Well, all said and done, let’s hope God blesses Mehdi Hassan with health and prosperity since he is certainly a great asset to the music industry.
