Islamabad: (Tuesday, June 12, 2012) Malik Riaz Hussain, the real estate tycoon and chief of the Bahria Town, following his appearance in the Supreme Court, addressed the media personnel today in Islamabad.
Talking to the journalists, Riaz raised various questions on the transparency of Arsalan Iftikhar suo moto case. He claimed that he met Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry in presence of his son, Arsalan Iftikhar.
He claimed that the chief justice knew about the business dealings and should have taken suo moto action before the media took up the news.
He also claimed that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had a meeting with Iftikhar Chaudhry at Khalil Ahmed’s residence. Khalil is believed to be a close associate of Bahria Town chief.
Shrugging off the blames for proactively trying to bribe the judiciary, Riaz said that he has been blackmailed as a businessman. He said, “I did not bribe anyone but was blackmailed. Blackmailers were assigned to follow me and
I did not bribe anyone, my son-in-law did.”
Claiming to present more evidences before the journalists, Riaz said that he will address media personnel again after three days and concluded the press conference.
