Rakhi Sawant’s ‘Dirty Picture’ gets in trouble!

Indian very own item girl Rakhi Sawant locked many headlines in the country after it was confirmed that she will play the lead role in the Bengali remake of Vidya Balan’s ‘The Dirty Picture’, which was released last year on December 10. However, it seems as if her dreams have now busted because Balaji Promotions has sent a legal notice to producer-director Shatabdi Roy, also a Member of Parliament, about the purported film.

Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures confirms, “Yes, a notice was sent to the producer in response to which she denied proposing a remake of The Dirty Picture in Bengali.”

Ekta Kapoor, who co-produced ‘The Dirty Picture’ along with Shobha Kapoor, is already unhappy with the remake of her film and she has expressed her feeling on several occasions.

“Things like copyright and ownership have been put in practice for a reason. Lifting (story) ideas might be very intangible but it’s as heinous as anything else,” she said.

Nevertheless, the motor-mouth, Rakhi Sawant, is completely unfazed with all the noises around her as the actress is still maintaining her old stance.

“I am leaving for Kolkata this week for the first shoot of the film. I can’t disclose the dates of the shooting. In fact, I met Vidya (Balan) recently at the Delhi airport. We were going to Mumbai on the same flight. She was seated next to me and wished me luck for the remake. She also advised me on how to go about my role. We had a detailed chat for about an hour on the film,” she said.

Well, all said and done, the producer of the movie has insisted that her film is not going to be based on the 2011 blockbuster. She remarked that in her film a lot of things will be different and most importantly it will have a different story-line so let’s see if Roy gets the permission.
