Apple set to kill “Ping” in next operating systems
Wednesday, June 13th, 2012 11:37:28 by Farasat AliAmong the new operating system that Apple has introduced over the time, they have disappointed the users by offering Ping, a social network attempt to share music between iTunes users.
Born in September 2010, Ping was presented by Steve Jobs himself. However, it received major critisim over the time.
If there was something that hindered Apple’s growth, it has been their latest service which has failed to compete with Facebook or Twitter. The behavior of this device is much more like the already outdated MySpace or lastfm , radio online.
As indicated by All Things Digital , Apple has finally subsided. With IOS 6, due in summer, Apple will connect to both the social network as Mark Zuckerberg service bluish bird, but not with Ping.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, did not hide the failure:
"We have tested Ping and I think the consumer has voted against it. So, I think this is not something we want to put in a lot of energy.”
Apple has a history of quickly killing products and services that does not appear to be fruitful. Services like G4 Cube and iTools are the prominent applications that had to be closed by the technology giants within no time.
However, it is surprising that they managed to hold on to promote this service down the line for a longer period than usuall.
